Race the Moon   Leave a comment

Travelling light, they raced the moon across the night sky.
When morning came, they rested under olive trees.
They scraped a shallow depression to where the earth was cooler.
Sleep would now be easier in the heat, they hoped.
As night fell they again raced the moon across the sky.
By the end of the fourth night they were now eight days apart.
If east is east and west is west, would they meet again
They raced the moon across the night sky
