The Self of Space   2 comments

The Self of Space

The self consciousness
of space invades him,
or does he invade it

He shuns the warmth of close
and denies the touch and feel
of body, of skin, of breath

A wave of awkward goodbye
is set in parting words of
“catch you later”

His actions speak of “do not touch”
but his heart and soul craves
that which his mind repels

He is not cold, he is a generous
man of eternal spirit but he
cannot fight that many voices

The self consciousness
of space invades him,
he prays there is no D day
